Christmas is Coming.

I’m guessing at least one staff member in your school has already begun the Christmas vacation countdown.

EERRRR!!! Wrong big guy. It helps that I advise in an Islamic school in the sandpit (aka the Middle East) and, of course, they don’t observe Christmas.

I’m being slightly flip here because the Sheikh has given us three weeks break at Christmas between trimesters and I’m looking forward to that and a Christmas holiday in Nu Zild with She Who Must Be Obeyed.

I wouldn’t say I’ve started the Christmas countdown (that makes me nervous because I will never finish all the knitting I need to do before then!), but I have started the graduation countdown! I graduate in December and I can’t wait to get started and have my own classroom!

What an adorable commercial! I love the feeling of having a present you can’t wait to give someone… but I really thought the little boy was eating all his peas so Santa would bring him presents! ;)

The best gift I gave was going to my mom’s house during escrow and picking the walnuts up off the ground. We cracked them and gave them to her for Christmas. My dad had died, she had remodeled, but decided to move anyway. She loved the walnuts that fell every year and we hated cracking them. This particular year, it wasn’t so bad. Giving a gift you know will be wonderful is the best!!!!
