I will say that I am shocked by how often my students are NOT this student. This may be a classist portrait of a student, since I teach at a State College that often attracts local students transferring from junior colleges and first time students who may not have had the same resources as the students at the private University where I used to teach. I do think the phone thing is on target, but the laptop/iPad thing may be a little bit of a stretch for many of the students I currently have coming to my classes. Just thought I would share that thought.

I hate to admit it, but you’re right. Some students are still not this student.
